Micro-Needling (also known as Epidermal Collagen Induction Therapy) treats the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, stretch marks and improves the skin’s texture, tone, and color. It is an excellent treatment option for all skin types and pigmentation. Clients who may not be ideal for laser resurfacing treatments or deep chemical peels can choose Micro-Needling as an alternative treatment method.
During the procedure, a disposable one-time-use needling tip containing 12 tiny micro-points is used to create controlled depth micro-injuries to the skin. This process aids in the production of new collagen and elastin. As the skin repairs itself, a thicker epidermis with a softer appearance of wrinkles emerges. This process also creates microchannels through which topical gels, creams, and serums can be absorbed more effectively, enhancing the effects in the deeper layers (dermal-layer) of the skin.
The procedure takes only 15-30 minutes depending on the area being treated. Your scheduled appointment may be longer depending on optional services we suggest to combine with the treatment. Your Aesthetician can help you decide what plan option is best for you.
Following your procedure, you may experience redness for a few days in the treated area.
For many clients, a single treatment once a year may result in visible improvement. However, a series of three treatments is often recommended to achieve optimum results. Micro-Needling can safely be done every six to eight weeks. For clients with more significant skincare concerns, such as acne scars, six to eight total treatments at six-week intervals are recommended.
